Former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, has declared that no individual, group or cabal will be allowed to determine the political destiny of Abia State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wabara made the statement on Friday during a grand civic reception organised by his Ukwa Ngwa kinsmen in honour of Governor Alex Otti at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba. He stressed that the choice of who governs Abia State in 2027 rests solely with the electorate through the ballot.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, reacting to recent threats by a coalition of former Abia governors to block Otti’s second-term ambition and hand over the state to the All Progressives Congress, said the era when a few individuals imposed leaders on the people had come to an end.

“Leadership must be earned through competence, credibility and track record—not imposed through manipulation and selfish interests. No cabal will decide Abia’s political destiny.

“Let me state categorically and without equivocation: the Governor must not be distracted or intimidated by any coalition of desperate forces plotting to derail his second-term ambition if he decides to recontest,” he said.
