The Nigerian law school has recorded a failure rate of 22.98 per cent, which accounts for 1,325 prospective lawyers who failed the 2021 final bar final examination.
The PUNCH, quoting the statistics issued by the Council of Legal Education, reported that a total of 5,770 persons sat for the examination.
Twenty students (0.007%) bagged first class, 432 (7.49%) bagged second class (upper division). 2,172 (37.64%) students bagged second class (lower division) and 1,725 (29.90%) got a pass.
In the breakdown of the result, 35 (0.61%) students had conditional pass, while 60 (1.04%) students were absent. The result of the examination is a prerequisite for getting called to the Nigerian Bar.
Thus, successful participants will be called to the Nigerian Bar in a call-to-bar ceremony scheduled to hold on July 27 and 28. The Director of Administration of the Nigerian Law School, Elizabeth Max-Uba, confirmed the release of the result.
