The Police Command in Katsina State has confirmed the kidnapping of 75-year-old Hauwa’u Adamu, the mother of renowned Hausa singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara.

The incident took place early Friday morning at her residence in Kahutu, Danja Local Government Area.

The command’s spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, said in a statement, “Today, June 28, at about 1:30 a.m., information was received at the Danja Divisional Police Headquarters that some suspected kidnappers silently invaded the residence of one Hauwa’u Adamu, aged 75, in Kahutu village, Danja Local Government, and kidnapped her.”

Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer of Danja promptly led a team of operatives to the scene.

“The team aimed to arrest the culprits and rescue the victim unharmed,” Aliyu stated. However, the kidnappers had already fled with Hauwa’u Adamu.

Aliyu also mentioned that two suspects have been arrested during the investigation and are currently being questioned. He assured that further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
