Nigerian singer Omoniyi Temidayo, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile, has revealed plans to return to his former school, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), for a free concert alongside the inauguration of a new music studio.
The event, titled Homecoming, is slated for July 1, 2026, at the MAPOLY Sports Centre in Ogun State.
According to a post shared on the singer’s Instagram page, the concert will be free for students and will serve as his first major campus performance of the year.
Explaining the reason behind the event, Zlatan said MAPOLY played a significant role in his journey before he became a household name in the Nigerian music industry. He noted that the homecoming is not only an opportunity to entertain students but also to celebrate with the community where his musical journey began.
Zlatan wrote, “MAPOLY JULY 1st !!! MAPOLY made me before the world knew my name. Same ground, same dream, same hunger that carried me everywhere. Now I’m coming back home. Not just to perform for you, but to celebrate with you.
“A free show for my people. The place where it all started. Symbol Of Hope HOMECOMING. Mapoly Sport Center, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ogun State”.
The artist attended MAPOLY in the early 2010s before fully committing to music. During his time at the institution, he built an early fan base by performing at campus events, engaging in freestyle sessions with fellow students, and refining the energetic, street-inspired style that eventually propelled him to national fame.
