Yuletide: NSCDC beefs up security across Bauchi
In anticipation of the Yuletide season, the Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has implemented strategic security measures by deploying patrol vehicles and undercover agents to various locations in the state.
The goal is to ensure rapid response in case of emergencies and to cover areas where suspected hoodlums may be active during the festive period.
Command PRO, DSC Ibrahim Abubakar Gabdo, shared details of the deployment in a statement made available to journalists in Bauchi on Wednesday.
The deployment encompasses strategic locations, critical infrastructure, and national assets across the state.
Ilelaboye, while extending wishes for a hitch-free Yuletide celebration, urged the citizens and residents of the state to use the period for sober reflection and offer prayers for peace, progress, and unity.
He emphasized the significance of the Christmas season, stating, “On this auspicious moment, the State Commandant felicitates all Christians and urges them to be good ambassadors of Jesus Christ and emulate the love of Christ for one another.”
The Commandant also called for cooperation from religious leaders, worshippers, and the general public, assuring them that comprehensive security arrangements are in place to safeguard lives and property.
To enhance security measures, the state commandant directed area commanders, tactical commanders, and divisional officers to strategically deploy both overt and covert operatives to critical infrastructure, national assets, places of worship, parks, recreational centers, and identified trouble spots.
The NSCDC command in Bauchi issued a plea to the people of the state to be law-abiding and maintain peace before, during, and after the celebration, reinforcing the commitment to ensuring a secure and joyful festive season.
