You all owe me an apology, American DJ slams Nigerians for insulting him over comment on Wizkid [Video]
Cipha Sounds, the American DJ who gave a damning opinion about Wizkid’s international recognition has lambasted Nigerians for camping in the comment section of his Instagram post to rain insults on him over his opinion.
WuzupNaija reports that the Pueto Rican-born DJ during a podcast had said Wizkid is unknown in the United States.
His comment sparked outrage from fans of the singer who trooped to his social media page to drag him and cast aspersions on him.
In his reaction to the myriads of insults, Cipha Sounds took to his IG page to share a video where he claimed that he was the first American DJ to play Wizkid’s songs on radio in 2012.
He said fans of the singer didn’t listen to the video before insulting him.
He wrote:
“Y’all owe me an apology. I was 1st to play WizKid on Hot 97
“I hate this social media shit. Y’all don’t even listen. I’ve been supporting Wiz Kid since 2012. Listen to the whole interview.
“All you people talking shit about the Wizkid story, you only listened to one snippet and don’t understand the point I was making.
“Nobody, not a single DJ in the US was playing Afrobeat before me.
“You can ask around how much of Wizkid songs I was playing on radio before anybody know who he was.
“The mainstream America people don’t know Wizkid. If you listen to what I was saying I said people are not supporting him the way they should because I broke Sean Paul in 2001/2002 on the radio, that was the point I was trying to make that we need some one to break him, I’m not on the radio no more I would have been playing all of these.
“Now that you know all the story, I want all of you to apologise on the comment like you’ve been talking all these shits.”
The DJ went ahead to reveal his iTunes playlist where he has over 70 songs of Wizkid.
