Nigerian global music star, Wizkid, has made history as the first African musician to accumulate over 11 billion streams on Spotify across all credited works.

The milestone was confirmed on Tuesday by music analytics platform Chart Africa through a post on its official X account, noting that the achievement sets a new record for African artists on the global streaming platform.

“Wizkid becomes the first African artist EVER to cross 11 Billion Spotify streams across all credits,” Chart Africa announced.

This record-breaking feat comes shortly after the release of his latest collaboration with DJ Tunez titled State of Mind.

The newly released track, which dropped on May 15, recorded more than 685,000 Spotify streams globally within its first 24 hours of release.
