Yobe NSCDC arrests three suspects for railway sleeper theft
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Yobe State Command, has apprehended three suspects and recovered 450 stolen railway sleepers in an operation that took place at the Kandahar conjunction in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State.
Speaking to the press in Damaturu, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, Malam Adamu Idris Zakar, revealed, disclosed that the estimated value of the seized railway sleepers at the purchasing level amounts to N3,372,500, while their estimated selling cost is approximately N5,922,000.
The NSCDC emphasized its commitment to curbing such criminal activities and ensuring the security of critical infrastructure, particularly in the transportation sector.
Zakar assured that the case is currently in the hands of the intelligence and investigation department of the NSCDC.
