Former WWE personality, Kayla Becker, has spoken out in defense of her decision not to have children after receiving criticism online over her personal choice.
Becker addressed the backlash on Twitter, explaining that motherhood is not a goal shared by every woman.
She said her decision is rooted partly in her experiences with addiction and trauma and expressed concern about potentially passing those struggles on to another generation.
“I get hate for being open about not wanting kids. People call it “selfish,” which makes no sense to me. I come from addiction and trauma, and I’ve always feared passing any of that on. Not everyone should have kids – and there should be zero shame in knowing that about yourself.”
The comments drew support from two-time WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash, who argued that Becker should have complete control over the decision and criticized those who attempt to impose their views on others.
“Bringing a human into a world of shit is an incredible risk. Corruption is a social norm. Lies as common from one’s mouth as breath. You’re body and responsibility makes it easily your choice. The shame is in those who try to dictate your decisions. It’s become common in a world of sheep.”
Becker departed WWE in 2024 after working for the company as a correspondent and interviewer under the name Kayla Braxton. She became a familiar presence on WWE programming during her time with the promotion.
In 2026, Becker offered further insight into her WWE departure, explaining that she felt her work with the company had reached a natural conclusion after the end of its kickoff shows and The Bump. She said she believed she had accomplished what she wanted to accomplish during her WWE career.
