The incidents involve the deaths of an elderly woman found with severe head and neck injuries, a young man whose body was discovered in a bush, a man who died after an alleged mob attack over suspected theft of Napier grass, and a 45-year-old who suffered an electric shock while repairing equipment at home.
Elderly Woman Found Dead in Kilifi
Detectives in Kilifi County have launched investigations into the killing of a 74-year-old woman whose body was discovered near her home after she failed to return from her farm.
The woman, identified as Sidi Kalu Mwango, was found on Tuesday evening, October 13, 2026, approximately 700 metres from her homestead in Migumoni B Village, Bate Sub-location, Magarini Sub-County.
According to police, Mwango had left home earlier that morning to work on her farm, situated about one kilometre from her residence. She reportedly returned home for lunch before heading back to the farm at approximately 3pm.
Her failure to return later in the evening prompted relatives to search the surrounding area. Their search ended tragically when they discovered her body and alerted officers at Marafa Police Station at around 8:30pm.
Officers who examined the scene found several deep cuts on the woman’s head and neck, raising suspicions that she had been violently attacked.
Police said no weapon suspected to have been used in the killing was recovered at the scene. Investigators are yet to establish the motive behind the attack.
Mwango’s remains were transferred to Malindi Sub-County Hospital Mortuary, where they are being preserved pending a postmortem examination.
Detectives are pursuing leads to establish how the woman was killed and identify those responsible.

According to the initial account, James plugged the machine into a power socket to check whether it was operational. He was electrocuted during the process and subsequently became unresponsive.
He was rushed to Jocham Hospital for emergency medical attention but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
