Tennis: Six Kings Slam delayed as S’Arabia moves tournament to December

Saudi Arabia’s highly anticipated Six Kings Slam tennis tournament has been rescheduled from October to late December 2026, with Riyadh Season organisers citing organisational and logistical difficulties behind the decision.

Saudi official Turki Alalshikh announced the development, confirming that the third edition of the high-profile exhibition event will now take place from December 27 to 30, instead of its original October schedule.

The tournament was initially planned for October 21 to 24 as part of Riyadh Season, Saudi Arabia’s annual entertainment and sporting programme. However, the revised dates mean tennis fans will have to wait until the end of the year to watch some of the sport’s leading players compete at the event.

Organisers explained that the postponement followed an assessment of the challenges involved in staging the tournament and their potential effect on the overall experience for spectators.

In its official announcement, Riyadh Season stated:

“Riyadh Season has announced the postponement of the third edition of the international ‘Six Kings Slam’ tennis tournament, originally scheduled for October 21, 22, and 24, to December 27-30, 2026.

The decision reflects Riyadh Season’s commitment to delivering sporting events to the highest standards, following an assessment of the organizational and logistical challenges associated with hosting the tournament and their potential impact on the quality of the audience experience. For inquiries and updates regarding the tournament, visitors can contact the Ehtemam Center through the unified number 8001282222 or via its website, Ehtemam.sa.

Riyadh Season expressed its appreciation to all players, partners, and tennis fans from across the Kingdom and abroad for their continued interest, reaffirming its commitment to delivering world- class sporting experiences that meet audience expectations and continuing preparations to host the tournament on its rescheduled dates, ensuring the anticipated experience is delivered as envisioned.”

The Six Kings Slam has attracted considerable attention because of its star-studded lineup, which includes Serbian tennis great Novak Djokovic. The competition has become a prominent feature of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to attract international sporting events and expand its entertainment offerings.

The postponement also comes against the backdrop of heightened security concerns across the Middle East. Reports of escalating regional violence and attacks attributed to Iran-backed Houthi rebels have raised broader questions about the impact of the security situation on major events scheduled in Saudi Arabia.

Riyadh Season features a wide range of entertainment and sporting attractions, including WWE Crown Jewel, making the successful staging of its major events an important part of the programme.

Despite the change in schedule, organisers have reaffirmed their intention to host the Six Kings Slam on the revised dates. Fans seeking further information or updates can contact the Ehtemam Center using the details provided in the official announcement.

With the tournament now scheduled for December 27–30, attention will turn to preparations for the rescheduled competition and confirmation of the arrangements for the participating players.
