We’re back, Barca players react to Madrid mauling

Published

Barcelona icon, Dani Alves, has described Sunday night’s thrashing of La Liga leaders, Real Madrid, as a night to remember as players react to the dominating victory on enemy turf.

Xavi Hernandez’s instantly revived Barca side thumped Carlo Ancelotti’s side who joined forces with Y-3 to celebrate two symbolic milestones: the 120th anniversary of Real Madrid and the collaboration between Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas, which is now in its 20th year.

The celebrations were however cut short as Barca ran riot to steal the show with a 4-0 demolition of Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

Reacting after the game, Alves said, “Well, I think the message is very clear. It’s to enjoy this incredible night, this incredible team, to enjoy this entire club.

“This victory is ours, it’s for the players, for our staff, for our club and also for our fans because since I’ve gotten here I said that we’re Barca.

“We’re Barca in the good times and during the times when things aren’t going so well.

“So in order to write your history with togetherness, you defend that feeling and the results start to go your way and one more time here on a rival’s pitch, I think we really had a night to remember.”

New signing, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who bagged a brace on his el Clasico debut did the Dragon Ball Z celebration in front of Madrid’s Toni Kroos as he make reference to anime’s iconic character Goku.

Recall that Kross had once described Aubameyang’s previous celebrations with Black Panther and Spider-Man masks as “nonsense” while saying they aren’t befitting of a role model.

However, after the match, Aubameyang shared a photo-collage of his celebration and Goku, stating that he is not a finished player.
