‘We do not want SARS anymore,’ Falz speaks at protest
Rapper Falz has said that the protest which took place in Lagos on Thursday is to demand the complete abolishment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.
The rapper who spoke during the protest expressed dissatisfaction at the talks about reforming the police unit which was created to tackle violent crimes.
According to him:
“We do not want SARS anymore. They’ve come with all sorts of stories about reform; what they are allowed and what they are not allowed to do. But it’s about time to completely abolish SARS and that’s why we are here.”
The protest comes days after the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Adamu Mohammed, banned SARS from patrol and the unauthorized search of citizens.
