W/C Qualifiers: Spain survive Georgia test as Denmark maul Moldova

Denmark routed Moldova 8-0 in their second World Cup qualifiers match at the MCH Arena on Sunday.

Kasper Hjulmand’s side kicked off their Group F campaign with an impressive 2-0 win over Israel on Thursday with goals from Martin Braithwaite and Jonas Wind.

 

The Red and White maintained their perfect performance with the demolition of Moldova who had only one shot on target throughout the entire game.

Kasper Dolberg scored the opener that began the rout and ended up with a brace (19′ pk, 48′) alongside Mikkel Damsgaard netted a brace on the night (22′, 29′).

 

Jens Stryger Larsen (35′), Mathias Jensen(39′), Robert Skov (81′) and Marcus Ingvartsen (89′) also got on the score sheet to complete the goal fest.

 

Tha Danish maintained the top of Group F with six points after two matches.

Meanwhile Harry Kane got a goal and an assist as England beat Albania 2-0 to maintain their perfect form in Group I.

 

Gareth Southgate’s men began the qualifiers with a 5-0 defeat of San Marino on Thursday with goals from James Ward-Prowse,  Raheem Sterling,  Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and debutant, Ollie Watkins.

The Tottenham star bagged the first goal in the 38th minute after an assist from Manchest United’s Luke Shaw.

 

Kane helped the Three Lions consolidate the 2-0 victory by assisting Chelsea’s Mason Mount who completed the scoring in the 63rd minute.

 

In the same vein, Daniel Olmo and Ferran Torres helped Spain to a 2-1 comeback win over Georgia.
