Nigerian singer, Aituaje Iruobe, known professionally as Waje, has opened up on her battle with numerous health challenges.
The ‘I Wish’ singer made the revelation in a video testimony uploaded on a Christian page, Youth Sorting Out on Tuesday night.
Waje, who was testifying after getting healed, revealed that she battled different diseases, including very bad seizures, fibroids, hives, amongst others.
According to the singer, she only usually remembers regaining consciousness with swollen face and scars after her seizure episodes.
When I wake up, I usually know when it has happened and everyone will be looking at me like ‘we were trying to resuscitate you.
“There was a time I started having seizures from nowhere,” Waje revealed, adding that she prayed continuously.
She revealed that other health challenges arose after doctors had diagnosed her with “fibroid, BP, it is just ongoing,” she said as she recalled one of her mentors told her that “these people don’t want to kill you, they just want to frustrate you to the point where you’ll be useless and I’ve never forgotten that … so every time I’m diagnosed with a different thing, I start worrying about it.”
I always tell my friends who encourage me in the faith to “help me talk to God because He’s not speaking and they tell me God is always speaking… I go dey look them like, ‘abi una get different ears wey pass my own?”
The singer who revealed that she is in her recovery period added that “strangely, all of a sudden, I’m recognising [God’s voice], I’ll have dreams, I’ll remember. I’m seeing things, I’m understanding, He just didn’t give me wisdom, He gave me understanding…”
