UZO IYI FESTIVAL! Masquerades attack church, kill one, injure many in Anambra [Photos]
Reports reaching us indicate that one person was killed, on Friday, after masquerades celebrating Uzo Iyi annual festival, attacked a church, Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, in Uke, Anambra State.
This was made known by Francis Okoye, the personal assistant to the spiritual leader of the church, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, who disclosed that a Catholic priest, Rev Father Henry Nnajiofor, a seminarian and 28 others were left various degrees of injuries after the attack.
The clergyman further stated that no few than 100 worshipers were also flogged during the attack by the masquerades.
He described the incident as a planned and deliberate act to intimidate Christians coming to worship God in the town.
