How Unilag final year student died on football field

An Estate Management student of  University of Lagos, Odusami AJibola Mathew died on Friday after slumping during a football game at the school’s sports center.

Mathew’s classmate, Folorunsho Adedolapo explained that the deceased was playing football with his friends when he started breathing heavily and promptly excused himself to get some rest.

While walking towards a sit, he slumped and passed out.

“He was immediately rushed to the Health Centre where  doctors tried to resuscitate him for more than an hour. Unable to do so, he was immediately transferred to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), where he was certified dead,” Adedolapo said.

His death was announced in a statement from the Faculty of Environmental Sciences Student Association (FESSA).

“We regret to announce the sudden demise of our colleague, brother, course mate, the statement read.  “His death is a big shock to us and we will always remember him.”
