Two Niger Poly students found dead

Two students from the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State, were found dead in a room at the FMC Quarters in Bida town.

The students, identified as Mr. Bam and a female student named Aisha, were discovered lifeless on Sunday morning after failing to appear after daybreak.

According to Daily Trust, sources suggest that the students may have died from consuming poisonous food.

Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident on Monday.

He explained that the complaint led the DPO of B Division, Bida, and police operatives to the scene, where they forcefully opened the door and found the bodies lying on the floor in the sitting room.

“A leftover food and some tablets were discovered at the scene and were taken for medical analysis,” SP Abiodun stated. “There was no sign of struggle or any mark of violence observed on the bodies. The corpses were removed to the FMC Bida for autopsy. The incident is under investigation.”

The investigation will determine the cause of death and whether the food or tablets found at the scene played a role.
