Two dead, three injured in Lagos-Ibadan expressway crash
A somber start to the New Year unfolded as a tragic auto crash claimed the lives of two children in a lone accident involving a Toyota car at Ade Best axis, Isara, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun, Mrs. Florence Okpe, confirmed the heartbreaking incident to newsmen in Abeokuta on Monday.
Okpe provided details of the accident, stating, “The incident occurred at 8:00 am and was caused by speeding and loss of control. The car ran into a ditch.”
The accident involved five individuals, comprising three children, one man, and a woman.
Okpe identified the vehicle involved as a Toyota car with registration number TTD 985 AA.
She attributed the cause of the lone crash to excessive speed, leading to the vehicle suddenly losing control and veering into a ditch.
“The injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere, for medical attention, while the deceased corpses were deposited at Isara General Hospital morgue,” Okpe stated.
