Chidi Lloyd

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state, Hon Chidi Lloyd seems to have incurred the wrath of some Nigerians when he described as a “Nollywood rehearsal” the killing of a PDP collation agent during the suspended governorship election in the state.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had alleged that its collation agent for Khana local government area, Dr Ferry Gberegbe, was shot dead by a personnel of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) during the March 9 governorship election.

Lloyd appeared on AIT’s breakfast show ‘Kakaaki‘ on Monday where he spoke on the last governorship election in Rivers state which was suspended by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over widespread violence.

He said on the show that the report of Dr Gberegbe who was shot in Khana was like ‘a Nollywood rehearsal,’ which he wouldn’t believe until he sees the autopsy report.

The comment by the former Rivers lawmaker led to a feast of rage on Twitter. They lambasted him for being inhumane and playing politics with human life.

A Twitter user identified as Okokobioko (@Nigerian_Oyinbo) wrote:

“Chidi Lloyd on @aitkakaaki said the Dr that was shot in Khana was like ‘a Nollywood rehearsal’, he doesn’t believe it until he see the autopsy report. Chidi Lloyd is a disgrace.

“He calls it a ‘perfectly choreographed movie’. He also said how come the Dr was shit and there was no sign of blood. Chidi Lloyd shouldnt be walking free, he’s a time bomb waiting to explode.”

Ayakeme Whisky (@AyakemeW), also wrote:

“I pity Dr. Chidi Lloyd @aitkakaaki struggling to defend the insensately senseless killings on the platitude of political expediency. Must we loose our morality for partisan sake? Shameful that some APC members in Rivers state have no scintilla of regard for human life.”
