Twitter on fire over Olamide’s OLIC 4
Folks on the Nigerian Twitterverse are not united in their reaction to the Olamide Live In Concert (OLIC) scheduled for Sunday.
There are several talking points. While some people are happy and thanking Olamide for making the concert gate fee affordable at N1000, some are complaining that the gate fee is too cheap and it will attract crude elements.
Some folks also expressed concern about the inclusion of an artist, Yomi SARS in the line up of artist, saying the inclusion of the musician who is also a police officer attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) was insensitive on Olamide’s part. Those who are making such observation anchored it on the recent #EndSARS campaign in which Nigerians are calling for the scrapping of the police squad over several cases of harassment, brutality and abuse of power with impunity.
Here are some of the comments about the OLIC 4 concert.
Olamide makes OLIC ticket 1k. Even people that haven't eaten since today are crying on here that it's too cheap so they won't go ?awon double standard oshi
Then Yomi SARS ? ….— John Barth (@holysaintbj) December 17, 2017
@AkinwunmiAmbode, I wonder what you priorities are, people are daily complaining about lagos getting dirty, the tankers lined up all the way to Ikorodu road, nothing done, yet went ahead to block western avenue for #OLIC. It was an ill-conceived advice. Shame on you @followlasg

Olamide lacks depth, musically and personally.
I’m not surprised he invited Yomi Sars to perform at OLIC.

So Olamide is giving Yomi SARS a platform to perform at OLIC 4.
It’s one thing to be ignorant & not understand consequences of your actions. It’s another thing to be aware of it but completely detached from the reality that’s going on around you.
Zero emotional intelligence.

SARS officials prolly beat up and embarassed a large number of OLIC 4 potential audience because they dressed fly. And thats why they had to go back home n couldn’t make it ?. Some won’t even bother to come out at noon. Now Olamide knows wetin the street youths dey face.

Yomisars performing at OLIC is not even a good thing tbh .
It just means his guys will be there to support him and then later rob the audience when they're going home— Tosin esq. (@SABA_LEE) December 16, 2017
Yomi SARS is enough reason for you guys not to be at olic.
SARS officials will be there and you know the rest pic.twitter.com/zpBsqpk64J— God's Own (@uncle_haydee) December 17, 2017
OLIC or not, I am personally not attending any show where a SARS officer is performing. Can't be supporting the same people abusing our youths. Wish Olamide a successful Show.

I'm not anti Olamide or anti OLIC biko…
I'm just saying that this is Nigeria and in Nigeria, your security is in your own hands.
If somebody can get robbed inside Eko hotel, what is Teslim Balogun Stadium? Lol

OLIC is 1k. Your MCM is very smart. Holding his concert in a Stadium located around a very populated area so he can brag 'I shut down Lagos Mainland. Yen yen yen'. With a gate fee of 1k, even Ruggedman wld get a sizeable crowd at Teslim Balogun Stadium.
