Troops rescue more students kidnapped in Kebbi, kill bandit
Troops on Saturday rescued a teacher and three students abducted at the Federal Government College, Birnin Yawuri.
The troops also killed one bandit and recovered nine motorcycles and four handsets from the fleeing bandits.
This was contained in an update by the Director of Army Public Relations, Onyema Nwachukwu, on Sunday.
Nwachukwu also disclosed that more troops would be deployed to comb the forest.
He said, “One teacher and three students were rescued yesterday at Makuku in the ongoing search and rescue operations. The troops also killed one bandit and recovered nine motorcycles and four handsets from the fleeing bandits.
“Additional troops have also been deployed to dominate the forest and deny the bandits freedom of action.
“Recall that two teachers and five students were earlier on Friday, June 18, 2021, rescued by the gallant troops in a coordinated firefight with the kidnappers.”
