Troops of the 22 Brigade under Sector 1 of Operation Safe South-South have conducted clearance operations in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, dismantling suspected terrorist hideouts and recovering weapons.
The development was made known in a post on 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) by counter-insurgency and security analyst Zagazola Makama, who focuses on developments in the Lake Chad region.
To reinforce the mission, the troops were reportedly supplied with an additional armoured personnel carrier fitted with a QJC weapon system.
The upgrade was aimed at improving both operational mobility and combat effectiveness within the area.
“The operation was conducted without resistance and ended successfully, according to the sources,” Makama stated.
