Transferred aggression: Protesters call for resignation of Emefiele over economic crises
As the effects of the current economic recession being suffered by Nigeria trickles down to the masses, it is hard for many to determine who exactly to blame.
That may explain why more than 250 people, mostly women and youth protested in Abuja on Tuesday.
The protesters demanded the removal of Central Bank governor, Godwin Emefiele over rising inflation and falling Naira value. The protesters marched to the Central bank’s headquarters in the capital Abuja, accusing CBN of failing to drag Africa’s biggest economy and energy producer out of recession and stopping the descent of the naira against the dollar.
The protesters displayed banners calling on the CBN governor to go.
