Spider-man actor Tom Holland has officially confirmed that he will reprise his role as Spider-Man in the highly anticipated fourth installment of the Marvel franchise.

The 28-year-old actor revealed the news during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, stating that filming will begin next summer, with everything “ready to go.”

However, Holland did not confirm whether his girlfriend, actress Zendaya, who also stars in the franchise, will return for the new film.

The couple met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming and have since been in a relationship.

During his conversation with Fallon, Holland shared a humorous story from when he first landed the role of Spider-Man.

Reflecting on Halloween when Captain America: Civil War was about to be released, he recalled an incident with a young trick-or-treater dressed as Spider-Man.

Holland, far more excited than the child, tried to explain that he was the “real Spider-Man,” only to scare the child and confuse the parents.

Appearing on the show in beige Ami jeans, a white Ami shirt, and Axel Arigato trainers, Holland enthusiastically confirmed the next film in the Spider-Man series. “It’s happening,” he said.

“Next summer, we start shooting. Everything is good to go; we’re nearly there. Super exciting. I can’t wait.”

The announcement comes on the heels of Holland’s revelation about how Robert Downey Jr. helped save his career during his time in the Avengers.

Speaking on the Rich Roll podcast, Holland shared that his lines in the film were significantly reduced after his initial screen test, but Downey stepped in and ensured the young actor’s entire performance was used.

He credited Downey with speaking up, saying, “Downey was the one who told them to use it.”

Holland also opened up about a personal turning point in his career, recalling how he “polished off the mini bar” the night before his first screen test with Downey. Marvel discovered this incident, but Holland has since turned his life around, now living a sober lifestyle.

Last week, he launched his alcohol-free beer brand, Bero, marking a new chapter in his journey.

Fans are eagerly awaiting more details about the fourth Spider-Man installment, set to begin filming next year.
