Tiwa Savage opens up on eye challenge
Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Tiwa Savage has candidly shared her recent struggle with poor eyesight in a video posted on her Instagram page.
The award-winning singer revealed that she has been experiencing difficulties with her vision for the past two to three years.
In the video, Tiwa Savage explained, “Guys, the last two or three years, I have been noticing that I will be squinting sometimes and when I read some stuff, it would be getting blurry.”
She went on to share that in the past few months, her eyesight had gotten significantly worse, to the point where she had to screen-grab messages and zoom in to read them.
During a visit to an optician in London, Tiwa learned about the condition of her eyes.
“So my long sight is okay for now,” she said, “He said, not great; but my short sight (shakes her head).” The singer humorously shared that she would struggle to read menus in restaurants.
Tiwa Savage, known for her glamorous appearance, playfully questioned if she still looked sexy while wearing her newly recommended glasses.
She emphasized the importance of taking care of her eyesight, getting herself a stylish pair to alleviate the strain.
“In the last few months, it got really bad,” Tiwa admitted. Despite her vision challenges, she remains upbeat and positive about her well-being.
This revelation comes after Tiwa Savage’s temporary hiatus from performing last October due to a virus that required an extended period of vocal rest. The singer prioritized her health and recovery during that time.
