Tinubu honours slain Delta soldiers with MON, OFR awards

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the comferment of Members of the order of Nigeria on the four slained officers and Order of the Federal Republic on the other thirteen slained soldiers.

This,he said at the ongoing burial ceremony being held in honournod the slain soldiers.

Tinubu said “ it is with heavy heart that we mourn the death of our military men who were brave, patriotic and have offered their best service to the country but met their death on March 17th.

“I commiserate with the families of our fallen heroes and the entire Armed Forces and also share in the pain and grief you carry today.

“It is my prayer that God will comfort all who are bereaved as a result of this tragedy.

“This is why we would be conferring posthumous gallant awards these slain soldiers to honour them”

The President further stated that scholarships have been approved to all the children, including unborn children of the deceased up to the University level and the military must, within the next ninety days, ensure that all the benefits of the departed are paid to their families

Houses will also be provided in any part of our country to each of the families of the four officers and thirteen soldiers.

He sympathised with the military on the death of slain soldiers and futher reinstated his pledge that the culprit responsible will be brought to book.
