This year I won some, lost some – actress Ufuoma McDermott
Ex-model and actress, Ufuoma McDermott, has taken to Instagram to express her feelings towards 2019, and to show gratitude as the year gradually comes to an end.
The filmmaker stressed that 2019 has been a roller coaster for her, with good sides and bad sides. According to her, it rained, and then then came the sun.
Sharing the emotional post on Instagram, she recounted her highs and lows since the turn of the year.
She wrote:
“This year has been a roller coaster,” she said, “battles, investments, partnerships and emotions. I’ve been very weak. Then strong. I’ve won some. I’ve lost some. It rained, then came the sun.
“Through it all, I’ve believed that faithful is he who has called me … even in my unfaithfulness.”
Recently, the mother of two described herself as one of the most successful people in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, adding that she had never been under pressure to fit in as a public figure.
Ufuoma McDermott said,
“I dare say that I am one of the most successful actors there is. I have constantly sought to up my dexterity as an actor; for me, that is success. I have been able to interpret roles I am super proud of. I have roles on a platter, based on previous performances.”
“It’s a case of to each their own; you will feel pressured if you want to be pressured. So I don’t feel any pressure. I am a working actor; I am not a social media actor. I act for real. Acting is my day job, so I am like the banker who gets up in the morning, goes to the bank, finishes from the bank and goes home. It’s the same for me. If I am on a movie set, I go do my job and I go home. I don’t feel any pressure as long as I don’t put it on myself.”
