Tension as Delta residents discover human remains in pastor’s residence
Tension and shock have enveloped the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State as reports emerge of a tragic incident involving Pastor Alex Itedjere, the founder of the Wellspring of God Ministry located in Agbarha-Otor.
The pastor is alleged to have been involved in the death of a young girl whose identity remains undisclosed.
The unsettling discovery was made in the early hours of Friday when the lifeless body of the victim was found within the premises of the pastor’s residence.
According to sources, the cleric’s actions took a gruesome turn, as he reportedly used a machete to inflict fatal injuries upon the young girl.
In addition to this horrifying act, it was reported that the pastor had previously vandalized a shrine belonging to his father within the community.
Details surrounding the motive behind the pastor’s actions remain unclear, leaving many questions unanswered.
Amid the growing unrest and anger within the community, the situation was on the brink of escalating further.
Fortunately, the timely arrival of security personnel affiliated with the Agbarha-Otor B’ division prevented an impending lynching of the suspect by furious youths.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, was unavailable for comment at the time of this report, and information regarding the motive behind the pastor’s actions remained scant.
Presently, enraged youths in the community have expressed their outrage over the tragic loss of the young girl.
Their anger and frustration were obvious, and they were perilously close to taking matters into their own hands before the intervention of law enforcement.
Amidst this unfolding tragedy, human rights activist Comrade Israel Joe has called for justice to be served in the name of the deceased young girl.
He has fervently urged the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass, to promptly initiate a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure the suspect is prosecuted in accordance with the laws of the land.
