Team Nigeria protests disqualification of 10 athletes from Tokyo Olympics
The Nigerian contingent to the Olympics has taken to the streets of Tokyo to protest the 10 athletes disqualified from participating in the track and field events.
The PUNCH reports that the protesting athletes carried placards with the inscription “Why should we suffer for someone else’s negligence?”
Others had the inscription “All we wanted to do was compete” and “We are not just alternates but potential medalists.”
