Taiwan’s National Immigration Agency has announced a two-year entry ban for a Chinese national who uploaded footage of restricted areas inside Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
The man posted a vlog on the Shanghai-based video-sharing platform Bilibili on Thursday using the account name “White Sheep in the Sky”, documenting his arrival at the airport.
The footage showed security screening and immigration inspection areas, where photography is explicitly prohibited.
The video also repeatedly referred to Taiwan as “China Taiwan” and appeared to intentionally cover the Republic of China (Taiwan’s official name) flag with a People’s Republic of China flag emoji.
After the video gained attention on the social media platform Threads, the NIA told Taiwanese media that authorities had identified the traveler and placed him on a watchlist.
According to the agency, the man entered and departed Taiwan in November 2025. Investigators believe he used a concealed wearable camera to record restricted sections of the airport, an act that violates airport regulations.
The NIA said such actions not only interfere with airport security operations but could also violate the privacy and personal data rights of other passengers.
The agency added that anyone found filming in prohibited areas will be instructed to stop immediately. Those who refuse may be detained for investigation, while individuals who have already left Taiwan will be placed on a watchlist.
Huang Yu-chieh (黃于倢), an officer with the NIA’s Entry and Exit Affairs Division, said the traveler will be prohibited from entering Taiwan for two years under regulations governing entry permits for Chinese nationals.
Huang added that once the two-year ban expires, any future application by the man to enter Taiwan will undergo strict review in consultation with relevant authorities, including the Mainland Affairs Council.
