Jigawa man bags life imprisonment for defiling 11-year-old girl
A man identified as Haladu Sani has been sentenced to life imprisonment over raping an eleven-year-old girl by Jigawa State High Court sitting in Birnin Kudu.
Delivering the judgment, Justice Musa Ubale, said the court found Haladu Sani of Mai-Rama village in Birnin Kudu Local Government area guilty of the offence, DAILY POST reports.
The convict was arraigned before the higher court for luring the minor and defiling her.
Justice Musa said the offence of rape is life imprisonment under section 282 penal code law.
Similarly, the court had discharged and acquitted Usman Lamido Isah Baba of Adiyani village Guri Local Government for the offence of culpable homicide under section 222 (4) of the penal code law.
The court also discharged and acquitted Sama’ila Sani of Tilli Bukwui village of Buji Local Government Area over the alleged offence of intimidation, enticing women and rape, punishable under sections 397, 389 and 282 respectively.
