Supreme Court throws out forgery case against Obaseki

The Supreme Court has dropped the certificate forgery case filed against Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the ruling which was passed on Friday, the apex court dismissed the case following an earlier dismissal by the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
The APC and one of its members, Mr. Williams Edobor, had alleged that Obaseki tendered false credentials to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in aid of his qualification for the governorship election that held in Edo state on September 19, 2020.
However, Vanguard reported that the apex court said it found no reason to set aside the previous concurrent judgements of Abuja Court.
The collective decision by the five-man penal of justices of the apex court posits that Appellants could not prove their case against Obaseki.
