SUPER MODEL! Naomi Campbell joins Buhari at private launch of Eko Atlantic City in Lagos [Photos]
British model and actress, Naomi Campbell, was one of the special guests that joined President Muhammadu Buhari at the private launch of Eko Atlantic City in Lagos State.
Buhari, who was on a two days visit to Lagos, was in the company with Governor Akinwunmi Ambode; All Progressive Congress chieftain, Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; and the state’s Deputy Governor, Dr Oluranti Adebule.
The Eko Atlantic City Project is a planned city being constructed on reclaimed land from the Atlantic Ocean.
When completed, it is projected to accommodate at least 250,000 residents and a daily flow of 150,000 commuters.
The 47-year-old said it was a pleasure to be invited by President Buhari and also shared pictures of the events on her social media platforms.
She wrote,
“Was a pleasure to be invited by His Excellency The President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari to the private launch of Eko Atlantic. HERE FOR ARISE FASHION WEEK ???????.”
The super model’s first public appearance came at the age of seven in 1978 when she was featured in the music video for Bob Marley’s “Is This Love”. At the age of 12, she tap-danced in the music video for Culture Club’s “I’ll Tumble 4 Ya”.
Campbell’s has walked the catwalk for famous designers like Gianni Versace, Azzedine Alaïa and Isaac Mizrahi, and posed for such photographers as Peter Lindbergh, Herb Ritts and Bruce Weber.
By the late 1980s, Campbell, Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista formed a trio known as the “Trinity” who became the most recognisable and in-demand models of their generation.
