Sunshine Stars snapped their three-game winless streak with an impressive 2-0 victory over Doma United in the match held in Akure on Wednesday. 

Emmanuel Isaac set the tone for the Owena Waves, breaking the deadlock in the 19th minute. The lead was further solidified when Olufemi Opeoluwa scored the second goal just two minutes into the second half.

This crucial win saw Sunshine Stars make a significant leap on the table, climbing from the 14th position to the eighth spot. 

On the other hand, Doma United missed a golden opportunity to secure the top spot, settling for second place in the standings.

Akinade Onigbinde’s team will now closely watch the remaining fixtures of Matchday 16, scheduled to take place on Thursday, as they aim to maintain their momentum and continue climbing the league standings.
