STRIKER IS NOT A BEGGAR, HE RAN AWAY FROM SCHOOL! Management Company debunks viral reports, says his money is safe in a trust fund

Following a viral story that a youngster who played ‘Striker’, the mute kid, in “Beast of No Nation” now begging for alms on the streets of Accra, a talent management company has released a statement debunking Striker’s assertions that he was not giving any money.

The company identified as MK Content provided details on the welfare facilities and financial support given to him after the movie.

Recall that WuzupNaija had reported that a Facebook user, Caleb Boye, who ran into Striker in Accra said he works with a gentleman who sells Yam at “Agbogbloshie Market”.

However, the company said he ran away from school and his guardian’s home prior to the interview. The company said him and another child actor from the movie Justice live together and are on a full scholarship paid for by the producers of the movie with contribution from Netflix.

The company said his $30,000 is in a Trust Fund in his name at Barclay’s Bank and now that he’s 18, he’ll need a valid ID card to access it.

MK Content also clarified Emmanuel’s story about them using GHc10,000 to buy a suit for him. The company said, “he meant to say it in the old currency which is ten million, currently GHc1,000.”

The company added that he has a good relationship with co-star, Abraham Attah, who played the role of Agu in the movie.

The company also thanked Striker’s fans and revealed that he’s now back in their custody.

Emmanuel was in the news this week after a journalist claimed he saw him “begging for money on the road”. He was later interviewed by Serwaa Amihere of GHOne.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Serwaa Amihere of GhOneTv, Strika had revealed that all the kids who shot the movie have been well taken care of except him, in terms of payment.

Strika also said he stooped schooling because of his financial challenges.
