STRAY BULLET! Police, youth clash in Rivers, two wounded [Photos]

Rivers State Police have reportedly wounded two men during a fracas with youths of Mgbu-Ikpokwu in Nkpor Rumuorlumeni local government.

It was also reported that stray bullets hit passersby who are reportedly receiving treatment in the hospital.

The Policemen were reported to have invaded the community to stop and search indigenes of the community.

Trouble started when one man identified as Nnanna, an indigene of the community was stopped and searched. Eyewitnesses said the police did not find anything incriminating with him, but still proceeded to handcuff him.

Nnanna requested to know why they were arresting him, but he was beaten up and pushed into the van

Angry youths of the community came out to ask the Police why they were harassing him. It was during the process that policemen started shooting sporadically.

The moment the police officers noticed that they had shot and wounded some citizens of the community, they entered their van and sped off.
