#StopMenAbuse: My wife used to beat me up, man makes public confession
A South African man has alleged that his ex-wife, identified as Charisma Hanekam, was a serial abuser who was very possessive and insecure.
The man, identified as Themba Ndala said his ex-wife made it a point of duty to massage him before going to work.
He claimed that his ex-wife would frequently scream, shout and beat him up when he comes back from work
Themba Ndala made these claims via his Twitter handle and narrated how he endured his toxic relationship for several years before opting out.
He wrote:
“I was in an abusive marriage with Charisma Hanekam. My ex wife was insecure, I couldn’t go out to work without her messaging me every 10 minutes.
When I came home she would scream, shout and beat me up. Many times I told her to stop beating me up but she didn’t #StopMenAbuse.
“Every time I walked away when she got heated up, she suggested I was cheating.”
Ndala who shared screenshots of chats with his ex-wife, however, said he is now in a two-year happy relationship.
Men have been stereotypically assumed not to open up when they are in an abusive relationship, their silence has been linked to the shame associated with being abused by a woman.
