EPL: Arteta has not explained why I lost my place to Ramsdale – Leno
Embattled Arsenal goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, has expressed frustration at being left out in the cold without any explanation from the club management.
The club’s former number one goalie claimed that manager Mikel Arteta has not given him any reason why he dropped him for Aaron Ramsdale as first choice.
The disgruntled shot-stopper hinted that he could be forced to quit the Emirates in January after failing to feature for the club this season.
The Gunners spent £24million to bring Ramsdale in from Sheffield United in August.
The 23-year-old has quickly forced his way into Arteta’s starting XI ahead of Leno who is now considering his future in north London.
“There was no clear reason why I was out, but it had nothing to do with my performance.
“He is the trainer, he decides. Of course, it’s difficult for me,” Leno told Sport Bild.
Inter Milan are reportedly keeping a close eye on the 29-year-old’s situation.
