Barcelona pay Xavi’s £4.2m Al-Sadd release clause

Barcelona, are closer to announcing club legend Xavi Hernandez as new manager after meeting Al Sadd release clause.

The Qatari club made the announcement via its verified Twitter handle on Friday, November 5th.

According to UK Express, the Spanish side paid the release clause worth £4.2million for the Qatari club’s head coach.

Xavi, 41, will replace recently asked dutchman, Ronald Koeman, who was sacked at the end of October.

“The #AlSadd administration has agreed on Xavi’s move to Barcelona after the payment of the release clause stipulated in the contract.

“We’ve agreed on cooperation with Barcelona in the future. Xavi is an important part of Al-Sadd’s history and we wish him success,” the Qatari club tweeted.
