South African man under fire for wrongfully accusing Nigerian of brutalising lady

Published

A South African man incurred the wrath of some Twitter users on Monday over his post labelling an alleged abuser of a lady as a Nigerian man.

The man had taken to Twitter to share a series of videos of a South African lady who was brutally beaten by her estranged boyfriend.

In the accompanying caption he described the abusive boyfriend as a Nigerian.

He wrote via his handle @Kwazi_cheese:

“A South African sister has allegedly been beaten by Nigerian man in Sandton Skye. On her way to hospital she passed on due to severe head injuries. Rest peacefully Sister.”

In the footage, the lady, who was seen drenched in blood, was said to have been viciously assaulted by the man at a hotel apartment in South Africa.

While @Kwazi_cheese claimed that the lady was dead, other social media users have debunked his claim as false. The man who brutalised the lady has also been identified as one Michael Brits a South African.

His post has attracted criticisms from Twitter users who condemned his caption.

Some described the post as insensitive and capable of sparking violence in the country famous for attacking foreign nationals at the slightest provocation.
