Joshua Iniyezo, known as Solid Star, has recently announced his engagement to his partner.
The singer, famous for his romantic songs, shared the news on Instagram with the caption: “Good woman no dey easy to find.❤️❤️.”
SolidStar’s engagement comes after a challenging period in his life. In August 2023, his brother Joseph revealed that SolidStar was battling both physical and mental health issues.
His brother shared a video showing SolidStar in a difficult state, walking aimlessly on the streets.
Joseph attributed this to the singer’s struggle with substance abuse, which had a severe impact on his health and career.
In a recent interview with Punch, SolidStar refuted the claims of ongoing addiction. He stated, “I am very well and healthy now. I have been out of the hospital for four months. I no longer smoke or take alcohol. I am doing very fine and working to make the world dance again with the good vibe I always bring.”
SolidStar also shared the lessons he learned from his ordeal, saying, “I have learnt not to always be by myself because communication is very important. I was always by myself, so I became depressed. I have learnt to love and be positive.”
Regarding support from others during his tough times, he said, “Yes, I received support from friends, colleagues, fans, and family. Their support made my stay at the hospital comforting. I appreciate all of them for their support.”
The singer’s struggle with drug addiction began in 2021 when he was introduced to crystal methamphetamine, which significantly affected his health and career.
SolidStar admitted that his addiction led to severe weight loss, disrupted sleep, and depression.
SolidStar reached the peak of his music career with the release of his debut album One in a Million in 2010.
This album featured the hit single “One in a Million,” which became a major success and solidified his status in the Nigerian music industry.
Following this initial success, SolidStar released several other hit singles, including “My Body” featuring Timaya and “Nwa Baby” featuring 2Baba.
