Published

Former Governor of Abia state, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has met the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday night over “major national issues.”

The Abia North senatorial representative made this known via his Twitter handle on Tuesday night.

Kalu who is the current chief whip of the senate wrote, “Tonight, I paid President Muhammadu Buhari a visit to discuss major national issues and I am very satisfied with our discussion.”

He posted two photographs of himself and the president, adding that he “left him[Buhari] at 10pm and in good health. We look forward to a better Nigeria.”

Although the 61-year-old remained mum on his presidential ambitions, he became the third top politician under the All Progressives Congress to visit the president ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Unlike the first two prominent visitors, Senator Kalu did not state if he would be interested in contesting in next year’s presidential elections.

WuzupNigeria reported that the national leader of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor David Umayi, declared interest in running for the presidency after their visit to Buhari.
