Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, who was arrested this morning by Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, has reportedly jumped off a moving vehicle en route Kogi and ran into a bush along the expressway.

The Sun reports that the embattled senator was being moved to Lokoja to face criminal charges by the police when he did the unthinkable.

However, Melaye was reportedly given a hot chase by the police officers attached to observe him during the journey.

The senator was expected to be paraded in Lokoja later this evening alongside other suspected criminals who implicated him in the crime that necessitated his arrest.
