See van Persie’s celebration against Arsenal versus against Manchester United. Disrespectful?
After scoring a consolatory goal in his Fenerbache’s 1-4 annihilation by Manchester United, Robin van Persie has earned a lot of praise for his manner of jubilation.
The legendary dutch player scored off an Emmanuel Emenike assist in the Europa League tie between both clubs and received an outstanding ovation for that singular act by the home fans, one of whom was former Manchester United boss, Alex Ferguson.
However, instead of just reveling in the action of the former Arsenal forward, social media was set ablaze with comments and pictures comparing his manner of celebration after scoring against the Red Devils with the way he did when he netted against the Gunners after leaving the club.
When former Netherlands international scored for Manchester United against Arsenal, he celebrated the goal and jubilated as if he had just scored a major point against his former teammates, but his jubilation after scoring against the Manchester club was in stark contrast.
He simply bowed his head, raised his hands, and acknowledged the home fans who cheered him up after the consolatory goal which denied them a clean sheet on the night.
Check out what some football fans said:
RT luzukobota_: ManUtd The best thing about this match is when #ManUnited supporters applauded Robin van Persie for his goal. This was pure…
