A student of the department of leisure and tourism of the Adamawa State polytechnic, Yola, simply identified as ‘presido’ has been accused of using knife to cut his girlfriend throat out of jealousy.

According to a Facebook user, Aminu Mohammed Inuwa, the girlfriend identified as Witness Ishaya is a diploma 2 student of same department with the accused.

It was learnt that the tragic incident happened recently when “presido” saw Ishaya alighting from somebody’s car, and he assumed that the car owner snatched his girlfriend.

It was gathered that the accused later that day ambushed Ishaya very close to the female hostel of the polytechnic. And after beating her, he used a knife on her throat in an attempt to butcher her.

“Some students who heard her wailing came to her rescue, though she survived it but she is in a critical condition,” the Facebook user added.

It was further learnt that Ishaya is still receiving treatment at a specialist hospital in Yola.
