Scores feared dead as school building collapses in Plateau
A three-storey school building collapsed on Friday morning, leaving many students and teachers trapped and feared dead in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
The incident occurred at Saint Academy, located in the Busa Buji community of Jos North local government area.
At the time of the collapse, many students and teachers were inside their classrooms. The news of the tragedy shocked the community, leading to distraught residents and parents rushing to the scene to check on their children.
Eyewitnesses reported that many residents were seen crying and wailing on the ground while security personnel and emergency workers worked tirelessly to rescue survivors from the rubble.
