Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Nigeria, Yousef bin Mohammed Al-Balawi has reiterated Saudi Arabia’s resolve to deepen economic collaboration with Nigeria after a high-level meeting with Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group.
The meeting took place on Friday at the ambassador’s residence in Abuja’s Diplomatic Quarter, where discussions centered on enhancing cooperation in critical sectors such as energy, industry, and infrastructure. Both sides examined avenues to broaden existing partnerships and unlock new investment opportunities.
Speaking after the engagement, Al-Balawi noted that the talks underscore increasing progress in economic relations between Saudi Arabia and Nigeria.
“This engagement reflects the growing momentum in Saudi–Nigerian economic relations and our shared commitment to deepen cooperation across key sectors of our economies,” he said.
The ambassador further pointed to the investment prospects available within Dangote Group’s operations, particularly for Saudi investors seeking expansion in Nigeria and across Africa.
“We also explored the significant opportunities offered by the Group’s companies to Saudi investors who are keen to expand their footprint in Nigeria and across Africa,” he added.
The visit concluded with a dinner hosted in Dangote’s honour, during which Al-Balawi presented a commemorative gift, describing it as “a symbol of the strong and growing ties between our two nations”.
Dangote, on his part, described the discussions as fruitful and expressed confidence in the potential for future partnerships with Saudi stakeholders.
“We see strong potential for collaboration with Saudi partners, especially in sectors that drive industrial growth and economic development,” he said.
He also noted that recent interactions in Saudi Arabia have paved the way for broader areas of cooperation, emphasizing the Group’s commitment to mutually beneficial partnerships.
“Our recent engagements in the Kingdom have opened new areas of cooperation, and we are committed to building partnerships that will deliver value for both sides,” the billionaire stated.
