Revealed: Identity of three SARS operatives killed in gun battle with Boko Haram [Photos]
The identity of three operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) killed during a gun battle with Boko Haram members in Borno State has been revealed.
The three police officers were shot dead during an exchange of gunfire between security operatives and the insurgents at Kundori village in Konduga local government area of Borno, on Monday.
The SARS commander in Borno state, Ibrahim Mohammed, broke the news on social media.
While mourning them, Mohammed described the deceased officers as “great fighters who have made the squad and the Nigeria police command proud in previous encounters”.
Mohammed wrote:
“Yesterday 6th Jan 2020 at about 10:30 AM, SARS team on forwarding operation base at Kundori village, Konduga local government area along Maiduguri/Damaturu highway came under heavy attack by Boko haram insurgents armed with five gun trucks.
“After a fierce battle, we lost the above great fighters who have made the squad and the Nigeria police command proud in previous encounters. We pray that Almighty God in His infinite mercy grants them eternal peace in paradise,” he wrote while sharing their published obituary pictures.”
The officers were identified as Abdul Adam, a police sergeant; Gabriel Amos, also a sergeant; and Kenneth Amos, an inspector.
