Senate president Bukola Saraki visited an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp on Monday.

The Senate President posted photos of his visit to the camp in Borno alongside several other officials. Of particular interest in his trip to Borno was his picture with a little baby who he said had was malnourished months ago but whose situation was turned around with the intervention of the Borno State Government.

“A few months ago, the baby in my arms arrived at the IDP Camp malnourished and sickly.
Months later, due to the efforts of the State Government at that IDP Camp, yesterday, I was pleased to see that the baby and her family are doing much better.
It is my hope that once the North East Development Commission (NEDC) – which has gone through its Third and Final Reading in the Senate – is passed and signed into law, it will help to create a sustainable future for our younger generation,” Saraki said on his social media pages.
